It’s the National Cupcake week

The National Cupcake week is organised by the British Baker and runs from  13-19 September. The week is sponsored by Renshaw and Chevler and supported by BFP Wholesale and Robert Dyas.

The competition was organised by British Baker as part of its build-up to the The National Cupcake Week. The winner of this competition is David Bennett of the Sunshine Bakery in Chapel Allerton in Leeds. He is an ex chef turned baker and won with his Banana and Mango recipe.

These rare the other winners for each day of the week: (from bakeryinfo.co.uk)

Monday: Chocolate Ginger Cupcake (vegan) – Lisa Harris, The Cupcake Theatre, Bournemouth

Tuesday: Tropical Explosion – Natalie Penzer & Rachel Brown, Cupcake Garden, Beaminster

Wednesday: Ernest Hemmingway – Vicky Parker, Sweet Tooth Cupcakery, Manchester

Thursday: Cosmopolitan – Stephanie Sippitt, The Butterfly Bakery, Poole

Friday: Sweet & Wicked Mojito – Susan Angoy, Sweet & Wicked, London

Saturday (champion): Banana & Mango – David Bennett, Sunshine Bakery, Leeds

Sunday: Sticky Toffee – Katie Rawcliffe, The Little House of Cupcakes, Thornton
