About The Barbican Lounge
A foodie revolution is blowing through the Barbican Centre. Two dramatic new dining spaces opened earlier this year upgrading the in-house eating experience for performance goers, local residents and anyone in or around the City.
The Barbican Lounge features small-plate menus themed around dairy, veggie, meat, fowl, fish or pudding, as well as gourmet bar snacks such as Harissa almonds or Pepperabica peppers stuffed with feta and myzithra cheese.
Both bar and restaurant walk out on to a stylish terrace area featuring seating pods interspersed with seasonal plants designed by RHS Chelsea Flower Show double-winner, Kate Gould. The terrace stretches along the Barbican lakeside, providing wonderful views of the complex itself and beyond to London old and new. The mouth watering feast continues with small plate dishes from braised pork belly and roasted pear, to rope mussels in parsley liquor, devilled whitebait, scotch egg and caponata with parmesan biscotti. The ‘not so small’ puddings include chocolate fondue and rice pudding served with spiced plum compote.
Have a great Christmas and a Wonderful New Year!
